The Isle of Man is part of the British Isles and has a land mass area of 572 km squared. The population of the Isle of Man is about 80,085 and around 26,200 live in the island's capital, Douglas.

The Isle of Man are one of the 15 founding member Islands, and they hosted the very first Island Games in 1985 as part of the Isle of Man’s Year of Sport. They were also given the honour of hosting them again in 2001.
